SUSTAINABLE CORPORATE MANAGEMENT

RESPONSIBILITY FOR

EMPLOYEES AND

SOCIETY

A company is only as good as the people who work in it. For us this is not a catchphrase, but part of our everyday reality. Our employees make Schubert what it is. Without their loyalty, expertise and passion, we would not be at the forefront of the packaging industry today. That’s why we consistently put our people at the centre of everything we do – through secure jobs, opportunities for development and a working environment shaped by trust, appreciation and a long-term outlook.

We care about the health of our employees and stand up for equality and diversity. Similarly important to us is the balance between family and career – for both men and women. Schubert also fulfils its social responsibility by strengthening the Crailsheim region and making it an attractive place for people to live. Of course, this also includes financial and active support of social and charitable projects.

WHAT SUSTAINABLE

CORPORATE MANAGEMENT

MEANS TO US

01

Putting people at the heart of everything

A stylised plant seedling symbolising the first Field of Activity.

A family-like atmosphere, mutual appreciation and a focus on teamwork and health, stability and reliability – these are the human values that have shaped Schubert for decades. Other values that we incorporate into our technology include a pioneering spirit, a commitment to quality, responsibility, passion and flexibility. As we see it, a sustainable employer is one that puts people at the centre of everything it does, even while maintaining its position as a technology leader. We aim to create a working environment where our staff can contribute, develop and feel at home now and long into the future – an environment that fosters personal drive, a sense of belonging at work and team spirit. Only once all these factors are in place can sustainable corporate governance evolve from a mere strategy into a living part of corporate culture – sustained by our people and reflected in our day-to-day actions.

02

Transparency and tolerance

The diverse perspectives, experiences, educational backgrounds and life journeys of our employees are precisely what make the Schubert team so strong. That’s why everyone here should have the opportunity to discover their talents and realise their potential. We champion equality and diversity, and we stand for tolerance and transparency – both within the company itself and in our dealings with our customers and partners. These principles are enshrined in our Code of Conduct and in our commitment to supply chain standards and sustainable procurement. We regularly invite people in to see what we’re all about, including through customer visits and Schubert Insights for students and professionals. Through our SEQUENCE customer magazine and our ANNUAL sustainability report, we keep the public informed and provide detailed insights into our technical developments, corporate culture and sustainability measures.

03

Work-life balance

In Germany, families often find themselves torn between work, childcare and caring for relatives. As a family-owned business, we are deeply committed to enabling a healthy work-life balance. We support our staff through measures such as flexible working hours, individual working arrangements, comprehensive healthcare provision and our excellent company canteen. In 2025, we finally realised a long-awaited project: the Schubert KinderCampus, an on-site daycare centre for our employees’ children and families from Crailsheim. Over 30 “Schubert kids” now get to play, run around and learn here, while receiving the very best educational supervision. We are delighted by the enthusiastic response from parents.

04

Responsibility for the local community

The people in our local area are just as important to Schubert as Schubert is to them as an employer. We can only grow and evolve by working together. That’s why we actively promote many of the values that are important to us as a company – equality, education, health and technical innovation – within the wider community, through projects, work placements, events, donations, sports sponsorships and childcare at our Schubert KinderCampus daycare centre. Our annual Girls’ Day encourages girls to pursue a career in the technology sector. At our RoboDays, up-and-coming talents showcase their self-built robots in action. Through student and ‘taster’ work placements and partnerships with universities including Aalen and Karlsruhe, young people have opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of mechanical engineering and packaging solutions. All of this strengthens our ties to the local region, demonstrates the opportunities Schubert offers as an employer, and helps us secure the future of our company.

05

Financial responsibility

Sustainable corporate management would be a non-starter without a sound financial foundation. With this in mind, securing Schubert’s economic future is our top priority. This calls for strategy, market acumen, commitment, foresight and entrepreneurial drive. As a company, we also have a responsibility towards our children, grandchildren and future generations. That means laying the right foundations today – environmentally, economically and socially. We firmly believe that economic viability and sustainability go hand in hand. By embedding sustainability within Schubert’s structures, processes and decision-making and by advancing our transition towards sustainability across the business, we are helping fulfil our financial responsibility.

KEY STEPS

IN 2025

The “Great Place to Work” seal is symbolically displayed within a Schubert logo formed by employees.

Great Place to Work

Asking Around

Our Great Place to Work certification serves as both a yardstick and a driver of development.

Our values are intended to be put into practice. That’s why we’ve developed a tool based on the Great Place to Work employee survey, aimed at improving communication across our entire organisation. Leadership culture, engagement and team satisfaction are all showing measurable improvements.

Schubert KinderCampus

A Project Close to Our Hearts

In May 2025, a long-cherished wish came true for Schubert: our very own daycare centre.

It’s not only our employees’ families who are delighted with our childcare provision; our local community is also grateful that we’ve set aside half the spots for children from Crailsheim. As a sign of their appreciation, we had the honour of receiving the 2025 Crailsheim Business Award.
