In every packaging and in every process, there is sustainable potential that we can tap into and leverage for our customers. Because our machines can pack product into paper-based flowpacks and with composite films, into plastic and cardboard trays, into shipping cartons and reusable boxes or even into cartons without glue. How can we say this with one hundred percent certainty? “At our Schubert laboratory, we work with development partners to design sustainable packaging solutions for our customers and test them on our machines,” explains Michael Graf, Director Packaging Competence Center.
On request, we also work on our customers’ existing packaging and modify it, for example, in terms of volume and material consumption. If you want to optimise not only your packaging, but also your entire packaging process, the experts from Schubert-Consulting will support you as experienced consulting partners. Together with you, we will improve your packaging processes so that you benefit several times over. This extends to more sustainable logistics, for instance, when one more box then fits onto the pallet.

At the PCC, Schubert’s customers are supported by a team of highly experienced packaging specialists with expertise in packaging development, materials science, technology application and regulatory affairs. No matter where a packaging project begins or what the ultimate aim is, we provide personalised advice and support throughout the entire project, supported by a broad network of partners. Together, we work on selecting materials, developing the shape and design, ensuring compliance with regulations, and adapting to automation and logistical requirements, all the way through to the finished product. Throughout the process, we always strive to find the best solution, both economically and environmentally.
Sometimes, the key to sustainability lies not just in the packaging, but across the entire process chain. The Schubert-Consulting team takes an independent view and applies a systematic approach to all processes relating to the packaging of your products. Optimal coordination between product, packaging, machinery and the upstream and downstream processes is critical for efficiency and therefore sustainability. We provide manufacturer-independent advice and support you with implementation.
Climate protection and environmental considerations have given a major boost to research in the packaging sector. As an innovative, technology-driven company, we’re completely on board with this. After all, new materials, recyclable packaging and space-saving product layouts call for new automation solutions – different technology, more precise machines, gentler handling. With our expertise in packaging machinery engineering, we’re helping develop the right technologies for the new world of packaging.

We’re actively building this network of partnerships, making our infrastructure available for machine testing and laboratory investigations, and promoting regular dialogue and exchange.
Automating packaging sustainably requires both practical experimentation and theoretical learning. Our Technical Center and our Academy form part of the Packaging Competence Center. This allows us to combine our theoretical and practical expertise. We have a generously equipped area within our production facility dedicated to in-house research, laboratory work, measurements and machine testing. At the same time, we are establishing a range of in-house training and development programs for the Schubert team. After all, understanding grows and the best ideas emerge through mutual exchange and by carrying out our own automation tests.
